I spent a lot of time around here over a year ago while I was planning my own wedding. My one year anniversary is coming up tomorrow (and what a year it's been!) Since the wedding, I've started my own photography business. So far I've been focused on children and families, but a close friend of mine (one of my own bridesmaids) asked me to photograph her wedding.

I just wanted to share the photos of her beautiful wedding, and couldn't think of a better place to do it than on wedding plans!

Basically I'm the best sister ever. My brother even said so! He wants to go on the cruise in November, but he can't really afford to pay for it all at once, so I offered to put the deposit on my credit card. I called him today to tell him that I would do that for him and he continuously told me that I was the best sister and how thankful he was. It makes me feel good to do nice things like that for my family. I'm reeeeally happy that I am able to afford to do things like this also. And because of this cruise, I have Christmas & Birthdays for 2007 settled for my mom and my brother. Hoorah!

Today would have been my Grandparents 52nd Anniversary. :(

Today has gone by in an eye blink so far. I think I'm getting a cold and my head has just been cloudy all day. Maybe that's a good thing if it makes time go by faster. Only 4 days until I spend a week in Georgia with my family. I can't wait.

Good Lord. My sister's last day of middle school is tomorrow. Has it really been that long?

It's not New York City, but it's still pretty great. [May 21, 2007 @ 3:59pm]
I already posted these pictures on myspace, but wanted to have them in here. I went to Los Angeles April 20-22 to visit my grandpa whom lives on a boat in Marina Del Rey. Aside from the creepiness of our hotel the first night we were there (and three old ladies walking in telling us that the IHOP around the corner was robbed at gunpoint while they were eating dinner), I thought LA was pretty awesome. I was there for a mere 48 hours, but managed to do quite a bit. My uncle took me to the Santa Monica Promenade where we saw some pretty great street musicians and I was mobbed by a group of men in white suits who desperately wanted to give me a free sample of Revlon Lip gloss. My grandma got a GPS system in the rental car, which proved to be a great addition to our trip. We drove all around Beverly Hills and saw the infamous Hollywood Sign. Stopped at Grauman's Chinese Theater because I needed to find a gift shop and wanted to see the Walk of Fame. There were TONS of street performers and most were rather creepy.

By recommendation by my grandpa's friend, we drove to Palos Verdes so I could see the cliffs on the pacific ocean. This was the one thing I wanted to do and am so glad I did. It's truly amazing. I can't wait to go back. I could plan an entire trip just driving up the Pacific Coast Highway to see all the natural beauty.

Again, I was only there for 48 hours, but in that time I met a screenplay writer, a videographer that shoots for National Geographic, a rocket scientist, and I didn't catch his official job, but he works the red carpet at the Academy Awards. There were a few other interesting jobs, but I can't recall. It was just so neat.. I can't even describe.

I am really thankful that I was able to go visit my grandpa. He has brain & lung cancer, and definitely might not be around too much longer. I hadn't see him in 10 years, so to have the chance to be face-to-face at least one more time before he passes is truly a blessing. I'd really love to make one more trip out there this year. Not sure if it's possible, but perhaps.

Anyway, here are the pictures.Collapse )

I have a feeling that no matter how many times I might watch the movie Children of Men, I'll always get teary eyed when they carry the baby down the stairs and it's just like everything in the entire world stops when they hear her cry. This movie is absolutely phenomenal.
